Getting Involved
There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through FOWS.
Helping out with events
FOWS events include School Discos, Donation Days, Break the Rules Day, Family Quiz Evenings, the Leavers' Party, Summer Fête, Christmas Fair and the Children's Christmas Shop.
Offering to help organise, set up and run events throughout the year is incredibly valuable – it really is a case of many hands make light work. It doesn't matter if you can't help on a regular basis or even if you can't come into school for an event. There are always small jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare, such as wrapping gifts or preparing raffle tickets.
We simply couldn't achieve what we do without the fantastic behind-the-scenes army of volunteers who support us.
We also have a dedicated FOWS Volunteers Facebook Group, where we regularly post requests for volunteers.
Join the FOWS Committee
To plan and coordinate our events and fundraising initiatives, FOWS has a committee made up of a core team of volunteers and a teacher representative. The committee meets regularly to manage finances, consider funding requests from the school and explore new ways to raise vital funds for our children.
If you'd like to get involved, we'd love to welcome you. You can contact us via Facebook Messenger or come along and have a chat with us at one of our events.
Participating in FOWS events
Even if volunteering isn't possible, simply attending FOWS events and supporting our fundraising activities helps us make a real difference.
You can find details of all upcoming FOWS events on the school calendar, in the weekly school newsletter, on our Facebook page and on posters displayed at the school gates.
