Platform One Out of School Club

Platform One is Orton Wistow Primary School's before and after school childcare provision, providing a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for children outside of the school day. Our aim is to promote children's emotional and physical wellbeing, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide opportunities for children to play, explore and develop friendships through a range of enjoyable activities.

Children can choose from a variety of play-based experiences, creative activities, games, outdoor play and quieter spaces to relax, ensuring there is something for everyone. We value children's interests and ideas, helping to create a fun and inclusive environment where every child feels happy, safe and supported.

We are registered for up to 60 children aged 4 to 11 years. Platform One is available exclusively to children attending Orton Wistow Primary School and is overseen by a School Governor and Hayley Fidgett, Assistant Head Teacher

Platform One Opening Hours

Breakfast Club

08:00 - 08:35

Breakfast is served between 08:00 and 08:20.

After School Club

15:15 - 18:00

A selection of snacks is provided as children arrive from school.

Holiday Club

Full Day: 08:00 - 18:00

Half Day: 08:00 - 13:00 or 13:00 - 18:00

Our Team

Platform One is supported by a dedicated team of experienced Play Workers who are committed to providing high-quality care and enriching experiences for every child.

One of our strengths is that all staff also have another role within the school; this means that the children get to know us very well, and it also helps to embed the link between home and school.

Facilities

We have our own building and garden on the school grounds, but which are separate from the school building. 

The outside space consists of a grassy area, a paved area and picnic tables.  We also have access to the main school playgrounds when school is closed.  Inside Platform One, there are toilets, a kitchen and two rooms: a home-from-home living room with a television and comfy sofas, and a games and activities room.

Costs

Payments

Once your child's sessions have been confirmed, they will be allocated a place through MCAS (My Child At School). You will then be able to access your account, view your balance, and make payments directly through the MCAS system.

If you choose to pay using childcare vouchers, Direct Debit, or Standing Order, please ensure that you notify us when a payment has been made. As these payments are not processed through MCAS, they will need to be added to your account manually to ensure your balance accurately reflects the amount owed.

Please note that submission of a request form does not guarantee a place. All requests are subject to availability and will only be confirmed once you have received written confirmation from us by email or letter. We will always do our best to accommodate requests and, where necessary, offer alternative sessions or add your child to a waiting list.
